The Forbes Charitable Foundation

The Forbes Charitable Foundation is a registered charity (No 326476) and distributes funds to help people with a learning disability or to charities supporting them.

The grants we award aim to improve the technical, social, personal and occupational skills of people with a learning disability. They can be for revenue programmes, capital development, or specific items of equipment or for the personal needs of individuals.

It is with regret that we announce the death of Richard Wilkes CBE TD DL on the 21st June 2021. Richard was a founding trustee of Forbes Charitable Foundation and served as its chair for many years until his retirement. He was also a trustee, Treasurer and Chairman of the associated charity formerly known as CARE. The learning disability community have lost a good friend who made a major contribution to improving the quality of support available to people with a learning disability over the past fifty years.
